Bio

Hi, I’m Katarzyna. I’m an Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor, a Professional Coach (currently in certification), and a TIST Practitioner.

My work is grounded in a deep interest in how people heal, adapt to life’s changes and grow. Rooted in my own healing journey and strengthened by professional training and experience, I’ve supported people from diverse backgrounds through challenging times. I bring together different frameworks – including psychotherapy, coaching, trauma-informed practice and systemic lenses – which allow me to see the richness of each method, both individually and in combination. What I’ve learned is that real, lasting change – and meaningful personal progress – begins with caring for your mental and emotional wellbeing. That’s at the heart of everything I do. Whether you’re working through something painful, seeking personal growth, or adjusting to a new life abroad, genuine change begins within – and I support you through that process.

MY APPROACH
The focus of the work is on the current situation.
My approach is guided by an INTEGRATIVE APPROACH, meaning I draw from different therapeutic traditions. I employ a psychodynamic approach to explore how past experiences – particularly early relationships – continue to influence your thoughts, emotions, and interactions with others today.
Uncovering repetitive patterns and coping strategies that may no longer serve you, helping you make more conscious choices and feel more in control. The transpersonal approach not only helps heal emotional pain but also helps you evolve into a new version of yourself, one that is aligned with your values, feelings, and deep longings. Your challenges are seen not only as difficulties, but also as invitations for growth. I use a trauma-informed approach (Trauma-Informed Stabilisation Treatment developed by Dr Janina Fisher). It focuses on attending to different parts of you – even those that feel reactive, stuck, or self-sabotaging – with care and compassion. This approach understands that trauma affects both the mind and the body, and helps you feel safer and manage the sense of overwhelm. Through systemic lenses, I also consider the broader context: your family system, culture, faith background, and transgenerational experiences, all of which contribute to who you are and how you interact with the world. Other theories which inform my practice include findings from Attachment Theory, neuroscience, Emotional Intelligence and others.

I am a Registered Member of the BACP (MBACP), an Accredited Member of the UKCP, and I’m also registered with the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office).
I work with Employee Assistance Programmes (Workplace People’s Options) and private insurance providers (AXA, WPA).

Training and qualifications:
I hold a Master’s Degree in Integrative Psychotherapy from the Metanoia Institute, London, awarded in 2022, and a Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling completed in 2020. My training at Metanoia provided a strong foundation in integrative and relational psychotherapy, grounded in clinical practice.

I continue to expand my therapeutic approach through specialist training. In 2023, I completed Trauma-Informed Stabilisation Treatment training. In 2025, I completed training at the Silent Family Constellation School, founded by Gerhard Wallper, as well as training at Hellinger Schule. I am currently in the process of certification with The Institute for Woman-Centred Coaching, Training and Leadership.

Before this, I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Pedagogy with a specialisation in Social Rehabilitation at Rzeszów University in Poland in 2015. Earlier in my professional development, I obtained a Diploma in Integrative Counselling with a focus on Addiction Recovery from the Psychology Applied Institute in Katowice, Poland, in 2012.

Alongside my formal qualifications, I am committed to ongoing professional development. Selected trainings include:

Intensive Trauma Treatment Course (PESI; Bessel van der Kolk), December 2022
Trauma-Informed Stabilisation Treatment (PESI; Janina Fisher), October 2022
Parts, Ego States, and Fragmented Selves in Shame and Self-Loathing (PESI; Janina Fisher), March 2023
Safeguarding Adults Training (The Awareness Centre), July 2021

I also regularly attend professional conferences, including the Trauma Conference in Boston, USA (2023), and the Trauma Conference in Oxford, UK (October 2025).

Professional background
My journey began several years ago in Poland, where I started building my experience through volunteering. I was working with young people from families navigating difficult circumstances.
My experience continued in London, where I have lived, studied and worked for the past 10 years. My professional journey began in adult recovery services, followed by roles in gender-based violence services, including domestic violence support, where I also stepped into a managerial role. While working in these sectors, I was simultaneously in training for counselling and psychotherapy.
This path led me to establish my own practice, which has since expanded to include coaching. London’s multicultural and diverse environment has allowed me to work with clients from a wide range of ethnic backgrounds and professions—students, finance professionals, engineers, teachers, film industry workers, managers, business owners, and holistic practitioners, to name a few. I have supported clients through a variety of challenges, including childhood trauma, abuse, grief, relationship challenges, etc., while also focusing on self-discovery and personal development. Over the years, I have supported thousands of clients on their journeys. Everything I’ve experienced over the years has shaped who I am today and enriched my professional stance – living in new places, adapting to different cultures, and facing the unexpected. Like many of my clients,
I’ve navigated cultural shock, unfamiliar environments, and deep personal identity shifts. That journey continues to unfold. It has given me a strong inner foundation, one that I draw on in the work that I do. I offer a safe and supportive space for others going through similar transitions, helping people to make sense of the change, reconnect with themselves, and find their way forward.

In addition to counselling, psychotherapy, and Trauma-Informed Stabilisation Treatment, I created Thrive Abroad – Coaching for female Expats in Transition – a dedicated programme for expat and migrant women navigating change, displacement, and uncertainty. The work focuses on supporting transformation during transition, allowing resilience, clarity, and new strengths to emerge.
