Submitting a Written Assignment

All written summative assignments at Metanoia Institute must be submitted through Turnitin via Moodle. Turnitin is used for submission, marking, feedback, and checking the originality of your work.

To submit, go to your course page on Moodle, find the relevant assignment link (usually in the Assessments section), and upload your file by following the on-screen instructions. Once submitted, you can view your work and download a submission receipt directly from the platform.

Plan ahead

Do not leave submission until the last minute. Allow enough time to resolve any technical issues. If you experience problems, contact your tutor and Academic Coordinators as soon as possible, including evidence such as screenshots.

Understanding similarity scores

Turnitin generates a similarity score by comparing your work to a wide range of sources. This score is only an indicator. It does not confirm plagiarism on its own. Academic staff will review any matches in context to assess originality.

You can also use Turnitin Draft Coach before submitting to check your work and improve paraphrasing where needed.

File requirements and access

Turnitin accepts most common file types up to 100MB. It is best accessed via a computer browser, as mobile and tablet support is limited. If Turnitin is not visible on Moodle, check your browser’s privacy and cookie settings.
