English Language Requirements

In order to study at Metanoia Institute, your written and spoken English must be good enough for you to fully understand, and benefit from, your course of study. If you are not a national of a majority English-speaking country* and haven't completed a degree in English, you will need to provide evidence of your English language ability to study with us. You will be asked to provide evidence of this via the course application form.

The most commonly accepted evidence is an International English Language Testing System (IELTS). For most programmes, the accepted scores are below, however there are some exceptions that require a higher score. Please check the course page for your specific requirements.

Most undergraduate (Bachelor) programmes       Most postgraduate (Masters) programmes

IELTS   6.0 (with minimum 5.5 in all components)          6.5 (with minimum 6.0 in all components)

We also accept a wide range of other English language tests. Read the full list of accepted qualifications.

Please note that many English language tests will have an expiry date.

* Majority English-speaking countries are defined as follows: Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, New Zealand, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom and USA.
