Link to our latest Covid-19 News Update

We are excited to announce that Metanoia Institute has begun the process to be able to award its own degrees. As we are currently waiting for the outcome of our initial submission to the Office for Students (OfS) there will be no changes in the coming academic year.  All students on undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes starting in 2022 will be enrolling on degrees awarded by Middlesex University. For full details please see Update on our application for degree-awarding powers

A five year part-time training, leading to a Diploma and MSc degree in Humanistic Psychotherapy and a qualification to practice as a psychotherapist, together with an optional Diploma in Humanistic Counselling.

Due to the popularity of our Diploma in Humanistic Counselling Diploma with BSc (Hons) Degree, and as a result of student feedback, we have decided to offer a further Humanistic training course, namely a Diploma in Humanistic Psychotherapy, together with an MSc in Humanistic Psychotherapy. As with all of our psychotherapy trainings, the last three years of this five year programme, contribute to the award of an MSc.

Metanoia's Humanistic psychotherapy qualification provides an in-depth training for those planning to take up a career as a psychotherapist.

The course includes theoretical input, skills training, personal development and practical experience of working with clients. Students in the third year and above may also opt to take the Metanoia Clinical Diploma in Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counselling, which is gained via additional study days and a written and oral examination. This counselling diploma provides a path to BACP accreditation.

Students graduate from the Humanistic psychotherapy course, through the successful completion of a 15,000 word written examination and an oral examination.

This course is also accredited by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

For full course details including dates, course structure, and more see the downloads section below.

This programme is validated and quality assured by Middlesex University and you will receive a Middlesex award on successful completion.
