Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education

Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (Teaching and Learning in Counselling and Psychotherapy)

This is an exciting new programme (the first of its kind in the UK), a post-graduate teaching qualification specifically in the highly specialised skills needed to support the training of counsellors, counselling psychologists and psychotherapists. The course has been designed to have a direct impact on the process that underpins the teaching of psychotherapy and counselling and to support a successful independent application for fellowship with HEA at graduation.

The programme will help participants development as critically reflexive teachers of the psychological therapies, able to identify, evaluate and use, best practice, evidence-based learning and teaching strategies, that will help plan, conduct and manage the learning experiences, assessment, feedback and clinical competence development requirements associated with professional therapeutic relationships.

The programme will be delivered by a team of highly experienced Metanoia Institute teaching staff. Metanoia has a long history and international reputation for excellence and best practice in the training of counsellors and psychotherapists.

The programme has been validated by Middlesex University and will commence as a blended learning programme in October 2020.  It will run over one academic year from October to July. Competition for places is expected to be high.
