Metanoia Conference 2024 is a peer-reviewed conference with a mission to link research with practice. The theme is Therapy with a Difference – Creating Research-Inspired and Research-Informed Practice. We welcome submissions addressing how research into counselling, psychotherapy and counselling psychology can, and has, led to a more skilled and knowledgeable practice. We welcome any practice and research-related concern from qualitative, quantitative, mixed methods and/or pluralistic research angles and interests.
Research is emphasised in psychotherapy like never before. Therapists are expected to be updated with the latest research and to draw upon an evidence-base so that their practice is informed, relevant and specific to a client’s needs. Yet many therapists experience themselves at the margins of or even outside of the research community.
Research has a multitude of tangible uses in therapy. This is something we wish to present and explore in our 2024 conference.
Metanoia Conference 2024 invites presentations that reflect the diversity of interests in a multidisciplinary profession like psychotherapy. Embracing the value of qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods approaches, Metanoia Conference 2024 supports research from sometimes contrasting epistemological positionings.
