Academic Lecturer - Counselling Psychology – August or September 2022 Start
The Metanoia Institute is at an interesting time in its 30-year history of developing under-graduate and post-graduate courses in Counselling and Psychotherapy and intends to seek in the future its own degree awarding powers and in time University Title.
The Metanoia Institute wishes to appoint a registered Counselling Psychologist, or UKCP qualified psychotherapist, or Clinical Psychologist, who can contribute to the clinical expertise, teaching and administration of the Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy by professional studies, experienced in delivering a range of teaching topics in Counselling Psychology and psychotherapy, personal tutoring and research supervision for trainees.
We are especially interested in applicants who have academic expertise and/or professional experience in topics such as the Humanistic approaches and the teaching of counselling skills practice, research in counselling psychology and psychotherapy, professional issues and ethics, second and third-wave CBT, creative arts therapies, integrative approaches, psychological treatment for a range of different clinical presentations and clinical governance and leadership. Of course, it is not expected that any single applicant would hold all the above expertise and experience, but applicants who are experienced in at least one of the above areas will definitely have an advantage. Applicants with a UKCP professional registration would be particularly welcomed, even though an HCPC registration is also desirable and highly valued in our programme’s team.
We encourage applications from all backgrounds, communities and are committed to having a team that is made up of diverse skills, experience and abilities. We actively encourage all applicants to apply as we are committed to equality and diversity as an Institute.
