Michelle joined the team in 2019 after working previously as an examiner and research supervisor on the DCPsych programme. She is a BPS Chartered Counselling Psychologist and HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist. She is a graduate of the Surrey University Doctorate in Counselling Psychology.
Alongside teaching, Michelle works as a health psychologist in the NHS, working with people experiencing chronic conditions such as fibromyalgia and persistent pain.
Michelle holds a private practice in Surrey where she treats individuals and couples. Here she also runs psychoanalytically informed groups of 6-8 people.
Michelle's current clinical and research interests are focused on the use of psychedelic medicine in psychotherapy. Additionally, Michelle has a keen interest in group dynamics and is currently studying at the Institute of Group Analysis (IGA) in London to become a qualified group analyst.
