Dr Naomi Middleton
Dr Naomi Middleton BSc, DClinPsy
Naomi is a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist. She completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Oxford.
Naomi has over 10 years experience working in the NHS, specialising in long-term physical health conditions. Over the course of her NHS career she has worked in gastroenterology, pelvic health, chronic pain, bariatric surgery and weight management.
Naomi currently runs a private practice offering therapy for people with gut and pelvic health conditions. She is trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and this is her primary therapeutic model. She is also experienced in EMDR, ACT and Polyvagal Theory.
In addition to Clinical Psychology, Naomi is a trained Yoga Teacher and integrates this into her psychology work. Naomi is particularly interested in working somatically and with the body. Her yoga training includes hatha vinyasa, yin yoga and restorative yoga.
Naomi's clinical and research areas include the relationship between physical health and psychological health and specifically the gut brain axis. She is also interested in IFS therapy, somatic practices, the relationship we have with our body and perinatal mental health, in particular birth and breastfeeding trauma. Naomi is also trained in ADHD diagnostic assessments and is interested in ADHD and late diagnosed women.
