Joanna Griffin is a Counselling Psychologist registered with the BPS, HCPC and BACP.  She trained at Regents College and Metanoia Institute.

Jo has worked in many different clinical settings, including the NHS  and a number of third sector providers. She is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Research in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (CIDD) at the University of Warwick and offers supervision in her private practice.

Her doctoral research explored emotional wellbeing in parents of disabled children, combining lived experience (as a parent carer herself), theory and research. 

She has published a book on her research and runs the website Affinityhub.uk which signposts to emotional support for parent carers. She liaises with other professionals in the field and recently collaborated on producing a discussion document on trauma and parent carers.
