Kathryn is an Integrative Relational Therapist and Training Supervisor with a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Leeds Beckett University. She is a passionate advocate for counselling and psychotherapy for improving wellbeing. She works in private practice and has five years’ experience of teaching counselling and psychotherapy at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels.
Kathryn has a special interest in relational trauma resulting from adverse childhood experiences, and social inequalities. She has comprehensive knowledge and experience of working with relational abuse, trauma, and sub-optimal attachment.
Kathryn is also an active campaigner for social justice and parity of esteem for mental health services. After losing her father to COVID19 in April 2020 she led a national campaign to raise awareness of the mental health impacts of bereavement, loss and grief arising from the pandemic whilst lobbying Government for investment in bereavement counselling and therapy services. She worked closely with the BACP and gave a keynote speech about her experience at their AGM in December 2020.
In January 2022 Kathryn was recognised by The Lancet as having contributed to raising the profile of women in the public sphere of science and public health during the COVID19 pandemic.
