Examples of CPD Activity for the UKCP Annual Returns
Please see list below of what the Metanoia Institute consider to be appropriate CPD for annual returns:
What we consider to be relevant CPD:
- short courses
- attendance at workshops
- longer terms courses (i.e. we would include research degrees here)
- attendance at conferences
- facilitating a conference workshop or giving a conference paper
- reading with evidence of what has been read with dates
- Preparation for teaching new material on counselling and psychotherapy courses
- peer study groups
- working on an article related to psychotherapy
- researching in the area counselling/psychotherapy
- Practitioners who have qualified within the last five years who have met the consultative supervision requirements can use additional peer supervision hours as CPD.
- Practitioners who have qualified for more than five years can use peer supervision; the primary focus of this must be client work and development as a psychotherapist.
What is not considered relevant CPD:
- personal therapy
- clinical supervision
- General wellbeing
