Metanoia Institute ready to support frontline NHS staff

Metanoia Institute ready to support frontline NHS staff

Metanoia Institute have received a call from the NHS for volunteers to offer frontline staff support in these difficult and challenging times

NHS front line staff will often have to make difficult decisions and will potentially go through some traumatising times in the coming few weeks and months.

Experienced clinical supervisors from Metanoia Institute are on hand to help any volunteers with this traumatic work.  Volunteers will work through an affiliate network to support these  NHS staff with vital online and face to face support.

The majority of the volunteering will be online, however, if you are able to offer face to face support  (Royal Free in Hampstead) you will be equipped as medical staff with protective wear.

This network will work to match NHS staff with our volunteer counsellors and oversee the process.

Message from Jonathan Lake

Dear All,

Friends of mine in the NHS have asked if any colleagues would be willing to volunteer as therapists to support frontline staff who will need to make difficult decisions and potentially go through some traumatising times in the coming weeks and months.

I have volunteer clinical supervisors in place who are experienced and can support you with this trauma work. If you would like to volunteer please send an email outlining your experience to Harry Hicks as well as all contact details, and insurance you have. Please also include VSee / online account info.

Harry will be administrating this by setting up an affiliate network and matching NHS staff with counsellors. He can be reached at: harry.hicks@gmail.com

I’m looking for an hour or two on a weekly basis from each volunteer. All work will be online but if you did want to volunteer face-to-face (based at the Royal Free in Hampstead) then please state this in your email to Harry. You will be equipped just like the medical staff in terms of protective wear.

Any urgent clinical questions please contact me at jonathan.lake@metanoia.ac.uk but Harry will be your first port of call.

Thank you,

Jonathan
