We have designed a variety of workshops and seminars to offer a flexible programme, which meets the needs of professionals who must balance their CPD requirements with their work commitments. Most of our CPD courses are open to anyone who has an interest in the topic, while others have more specific requirements. For example, graduates only, or modality specific etc. Where there are specific entry requirements, a statement regarding this can be found on the relevant course page.
Our courses are divided into the following areas:
Introductory Workshops - These two-day workshops are modality specific and a prerequisite for entry into our counselling or psychotherapy trainings. They also stand as one-off trainings for anyone (e.g teacher, coach, nurse) who is interested in learning more about the approach and how to integrate it into their current work.
Seminars - These are usually short one-off evening seminars covering a particular topic, such as “pharmaceutical drugs”; “Dramatherapy”; etc but occasionally are arranged as a short series of seminars, for example, a series of introductory evenings on the ideas of Freud, Jung, Klein etc.
Workshops - These usually run over one or two days and cover a wide range of topics, such as ‘body work‘; ‘working with survivors of sexual abuse’; ‘working with people with problematic eating’, specialist supervision workshops and a range of workshops that can be used as part of a Mental Health Familiarisation placement.
Mental Health Familiarisation Placement Workshops- These workshops are designed to cover some elements of the MHFP and can be counted towards your 20 compulsory days.
Exam Preparations Workshops - These are open to any students who are actively preparing for their final exams.
Practitioner Certificates - These usually run over eight days to 10 days and include a ‘practicum’, where the participants give a presentation or demonstration (supported by a written summary of their reflections) on the integration of the material they have learnt into practice. Typical courses are - working with couples; group work; neuroscience; reflective therapeutic practice; addictions; setting up in independent practice; etc.
Specialist Courses - These courses lead to further qualifications, either a Certificate and/or a Diploma. Typical courses include; EMDR, CBT and Gestalt or Integrative Coaching qualifications.
