Criminal Records Policy for Staff
The Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 introduced a new vetting and barring scheme covering those working or volunteering with children or vulnerable adults. This scheme has now been halted by the Government and we await further details.
The Institute will comply with any legal requirements to ensure that unsuitable people are not recruited to positions of study or posts that involve working with vulnerable groups.
As a result, we may require staff to undergo relevant Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks.
