The Transactional Analysis Department at Metanoia run several different training, you will find further details on all of these, by clicking on the relevant link in the left hand column, unless otherwise state.
We have
Introductory courses for those who are starting out and exploring whether a career in counselling and/or psychotherapy is for them -
- Interpersonal and Counselling Skills Course - This is a short course, which takes place either over 3 weekends or over 12 evenings, and is open to anyone who wishes to learn basic interpersonal skills.
- 101 Introductory Workshops - This is a short weekend course and is open to anyone who wants to learn more about TA. Attendance at this workshop is also a prerequisite for anyone who wants to enter onto one of the full TA trainings.
We have courses for those who want to undertake a full training which leads to accreditation as a qualified Transactional Analysis Practitioner:
- BSc/Clinical Diploma in Transactional Analysis Counselling. (BACP accredited). This is a three year part-time course
- MSc/Clinical Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy (with optional Diploma in TA psychotherapeutic counselling. (UKCP accredited) . This is a four year part-time course.
We have courses to help those who are in the final stages of preparing for qualification.
Exam Preparation Workshops - These workshops are open to any TA student who is preparing for their exams, whether that is counselling exams or Levels 1,2 and 3 psychotherapy exams.
We also have Post Qualification Courses for those who are already qualified practitioners and are looking to add to their qualifications - these are:
- Certificate/Diploma in clinical TA Supervision - This is a one year course, which is open to any qualified TA counsellors or psychotherapy practitioners.

Postgraduate MSc in TA Psychotherapy - CTA practitioner who have qualified elsewhere in Transactional Analysis, are invited to gain an MSc, validated by Middlesex University, on the basis of previous training combined with a course of continuing professional development at Metanoia.

BSc in Reflective Therapeutic Practice - This is a one year course, for qualified, experienced and practising counsellors and/or psychotherapists, of any modality who wish to enhance their qualification and clinical practice by undertaking a BSc (Hons) degree validated by Middlesex University.

Foundation and Practitioner Certificate in CBT - The Foundation course is a four-day introduction to CBT for trainee and qualified practitioners of any modality. The Practitioner course involves a further 4 days of study and is open to those in the third year of training or above. Please click here for further details of this course.
And last but not least, we have courses for those who want to update their skills and knowledge
- Continual Professional Development Workshops - The TA Department runs several CPD workshops and short courses throughout the year, some of these workshops are open to trainees and graduates and some just for graduates. Most are open to practitioners from all modalities.
