Cert/Dip in TA Supervision for CTAs and PTSTAs

This course is suitable for Certified Transactional Analysts (CTAs) or newly registered Provisional Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analysts (PTSTAs), who wish to gain knowledge and practical skills in supervision so that they can practice independently or in professional associations as supervisors for practitioners in the helping professions.

The course aims to facilitate a creative learning experience in which participants can reflect upon and evaluate the theory and practice of Transactional Analysis supervision and build upon and develop their professional skills in this area.

The course is designed to support participants to :

  • Explore the tasks, responsibilities and structures of TA supervision
  • Explore the personal and professional challenges of TA supervision
  • Understand the basic theoretical models of supervision and to be ableto compare and contrast them.
  • Explore the processes involved in developing creative, developmental and collaborative relationships with supervisees
  • Offer both individual and group supervision in a number of settings
  • Attend to clinical considerations, including working with transferential and countertransferential issues.
  • Explore the factors involved in adopting and working within an anti-discriminatory framework
  • Locate their work within an ethical and professional framework
  • Develop as reflective practitioners
