Financial Assistance

We are aware of the financial commitment involved in training as a therapist. We offer a number of payment schemes and are happy to invoice employers or sponsors.

We have limited abilities to provide bursary schemes or assisted places. However, we have recently registered with www.easyfundraising.org.uk. This website provides links to a variety of retailers, each of whom are willing to provide a percentage of your purchase to a charity. Any money raised through this website will be used to fund student bursaries. We encourage all of our staff and students to complete the on-line purchases through this website.

To enable students from their second year of training may apply to work within the Metanoia Library. This ensures that our library is open during training weekends and can result in reductions of up to 50% of a student's annual course fees.

Professional and Career Development Loans

The Learning and Skills Council was dissolved on 1 April 2010 and the responsibility for administering Professional and Career Development Loans has passed to the Young Peoples Learning Agency (YPLA) as part of a shared service with the Chief Executive of Skills Funding who has the statutory responsibility for the scheme.

What does this mean for you, the Learning Provider?

  • The Requirements for Registration and the registration forms are now at http://pcdl.ypla.gov.uk/. If you have printed off copies of the old Requirements and/or the forms, please ensure you destroy the old ones.
  • If you have used the statement as quoted in Section 13 of the Requirements on your website or your prospectus, it should now read:

‘Professional and Career Development Loans are bank loans that can be used to help pay for work related learning. You can borrow between £300 and £10,000 to help support the cost of up to two years of learning (or three years if it includes one year’s relevant unpaid practical work). The Young People’s Learning Agency will pay the interest on the loan while you are learning and for one month afterwards. The loan can be used to pay course fees or other costs such as travel and living expenses. You can also use the loan to supplement other forms of support such as grants or bursaries. Because the Professional and Career Development Loan is a commercial loan product, they should only be considered as an option once all other student funding options have been investigated. For further information on financial assistance to support your learning, please visit www.direct.gov.uk/adultlearning or contact Careers Advice on 0800 100 900.
